Description

A very vigorous, deciduous climber with toothed leaves that are tinted with bronze.  In May and June it produces masses of fragrant deep pink flowers up to 9cm (3½”) across with a distinctive centre of yellow anthers. Great for covering unsigthly structures, up trees and trellis and will tolerate a north facing site. Plant near a path or entrance to enjoy the delicate almond scent. Prefers fertile, moist but well- drained soil.  Fully hardy.  Maintenance is to prune only if the plant is outgrowing its allotted space;  This should be done immediately after flowering.  In spring apply a general purpose fertiliser and then apply a mulch.  H5m  x W3m.
