Description

This is a great deciduous climber to cover large areas as it is very vigorous, therefore great on structures, fencing and climbing up trellis or through trees.  It has glossy green trifoliate leaves and in late spring to June it produces fabulous scented glistening, pristine single white flowers up to 7cm in diameter that frame the lemony stamens.. Some years there is a second flowering later in the year.  It requires fertile moist but well drained soil, in a position where the roots are shaded by other plants or a slate at the base to keep them cool, and their flowers are in the sun.  As with many clematis plant deeper than the crown level to encourage shooting below ground.  Prune to maintain size and shape.  Eventual H2.5m x1.5m
